"This agency took over my policy and I should have kept it exactly where it was. I have moved up and down the east coast for years with no issues previously. The car has always been registered in Maryland. Ragsdales agents advise me they cover Maryland and Virginia so it's no issue. Here I am on my way to Maryland and the officer informed me the MVA wants its tags back. I advise the officer I have no idea why as it's covered and paid. After several phone calls back and forth, and emails lost in translation. They inform me they cannot submit an FR19 bc it is not a Maryland policy. I was told that the policy was written incorrectly as a virginia policy therefore it's impossible to prove the vehicle is insured as Maryland doesn't recognize out of state insurance. So SF quoted me $397 for an individual policy. A lot of things didn't get done, and a lot of these conversations should have been had months ago. Now I am sitting here in Maryland with a car I legally cannot drive but pay for insurance for. This vehicle was on a Maryland State Farm policy prior to my contract in Virginia. I was under the impression state farm could handle this and now I'm screwed. They didn't make these changes March when I initially asked because they wanted to ask my then parter as I added him to my existing policy since he was coming down from PA. So they got all of his stuff right and he good, I have had this policy since 2018 and now they treat me like a complete stranger and like it's my fault they asked him if I could remove MY CAR from MY POLICY. He's he is on it, but I do not need his permission to do anything. We are amicable and I still go to Virginia frequently. If I needed his permission I wouldn't have asked in the first place. I feel violated and deceived. The customer service was avoided which is why this was drug out via email for months. The cops have a pick up order on my tags and i just got the car out of the shop after about 1k in repairs. This company quotes me $400 a month, admits finally they make a mistake, and leave me holding the bag. If you can avoid doing business here this is your warning. Especially if you travel for a living as these people seem to hate freedom."
